                                                        Theme Project Overview

Three groups examined a number of important topics that are highly relevant in today's society. Group 3 discussed the relation between financial stress and mental health, emphasizing the urgent need for affordable health care. Group 2 discussed challenges experienced by contemporary families, including managing work-life balance, and dealing with technology that affect these challenges. Group 1 looked at the relationship between happiness, education, and career opportunities.

Our group's presentation centered on the interaction among education, potential career paths, and happiness. We discussed the technology that has such an impact on those, especially considering things like remote work. It is important to recognize that technology has the potential to enhance one's happiness as it facilitates connections at deeper levels and distance. However, technology is also not fully available to everyone. Furthermore, we examined how one's perception of themselves can serve as a limiting factor for them, which can result in each individual losing out on academic and career opportunities. Challenges are a natural and necessary part of personal growth, but, especially with the help of social media, it can make unrealistic and negative positions in comparison to others, reinforcing that certain aspirations are out of reach.Fortunately, Miami Dade College is taking action to help students by providing things like financial aid for college and career advisors for leadership or Honors College students. I feel that our previous presentation was better structured and communicated at least. Personally, I feel that we delivered our information better than before and we made some significant progress regarding our presentation style.

In reference to Group 2, their presentation was well organized and highlighted important considerations relevant to our everyday social contexts. The most memorable aspect of this presentation was the amount of research that they provided. The group used research from credible sources such as the National Institute of Mental Health, PubMed, and the American Plan Act. These studies contributed significant and trusted content or information. I really enjoyed the discussion of international perspectives like the comparison of the U.S. and Japanese mental health care systems. It put a whole new perspective on the discussion, especially when seeing the international perspectives on mental health care and its effect on populations. The suggestions made in terms of MDC were considerate. Having childcare would help alleviate many barriers for student parents allowing them to be successful in school. The other recommendation of providing financial support would help alleviate some of the financial burden of parenting and going to college at the same time. Although some of Group 2's members were not present, they still made do with what they had and it is very appreciable.

Group 3 started off their presentation by placing a focus on the need for effective communication in the workplace and offered helpful tips for enhancing presentations. They discussed the connection between economic situations and mental health, which I agree is an important conversation point given the high inflation we are dealing with right now and the implications on work-life balance. I agree with the need for intervention to enhance healthcare options for low-income families. Affordable healthcare could assist the financial strain for so many of these families. Moreover, the group suggested that mental health support be expanded through workplace initiatives and programs in MDC. This would provide accessibility to resources to help individuals deal with difficult situations in today's century. I believe that Group 3 had high relevance topics regarding today's world, with statistics supporting the relationship between economic conditions and mental health. Although I think the delivery could have been better with more engagement with the audience.

In the end, these presentations became more than just an academic assignment but also provided a chance for reflection on real-life issues that affect many of us. They further educated me about how to make positive change, advocating for mental-health awareness, or lobbying for polices aimed at reducing economic inequality. Both group presentations provided valid perspectives on important social issues. Group 3 illustrated the relationship between financial stress and mental health, emphasizing the importance of increasing access to affordable health and mental health coverage. The delivery could use some improvements so far. In contrast, Group 2 showed good organization and cohesion, despite missing some students due to lack of participation.
